i have updated nokia 6630 via updater software and it worked fine,ie shows ur phone is updated successfully .

but when i check the firmware no ie v5.03.08 ,
it shows the same !

I want to know ,that after updating the software ,doesnt it update the info regarding the firmware ie like 6.03.08 or something!

The phone is working fine ,the only problem is when im uninstalling some big applications like word,excel it says low in memory even though when i check it with Fexplorer it shows 7048kb free.

So why its not uninstalling bigger applications???

Did updater tell you that newer version is available when you ran it? It also could be so that you already have the latest SW. Try to re-run the updater and read carefully what it tells you in various screens. Also: updater can only update you to latest available SW version and it might be so that the problem with large files you mentioned is still present in latest available software...

yes updater told me that new version is available and after that it started downloading something from the internet,then it start installing the updates
updater runs completely and it shows that its updated !!

than still the version is 5.03.08

I told before that everything is working fine..

also,when i started updating again,"the ph is already being updated with the latest softwares" showed!

so my question is if updater runs perfectly..then will it change the version from 5.03.08 to 6.0XXX something or it will remain the same???

also ,sometimes whenever im uninstalling big apps more than 4mb,it shows low memory ....error !

If your handset is or was operator branded sometimes you will not get the latest firmware, for example the Orange (UK) branded 6630 is also stuck at v5.03.08. It's the operator's decision if they want to use the latest firmware on their handsets.

As far as I know only european 6630 has v6.03.08, latest version for APAC 6630 is v5.03.08.

Post the product code from the sicker under the battery, someone could confirm which version of the 6630 you have.

I have 6630 to..

I've try this NSU today from UK site..

but it says my phone already have latest version..

I'm very sure, i never update my phone since I bought it.
