SIM CARD NOT VALID

hi all,

I recently bought a E63 from virgin , as Im shortly going abroad for 3 months, i asked them to unlock the phone, they told me it was already unlocked, following their advice i put in a diffenrt netwrk sim  but the phone rejected it saying SIM CARD NOT VALID, they then went on to apologise and send me the unlock codes for free, normally it would cost me 15 pounds. as they say that it should have been unlocked.

So they've sent the codes, and the instructions on how to use them, but this cant be used as i cant get past the SIM CARD NOT VALID when the phone starts up. they said its a prob with Nokia, but Nokia disagrees, i have 3 more days before I leave the country, does anyone know the format used to unlock this type of Nokia???

Re: SIM CARD NOT VALID

Just a thought.....Did you get a Virgin Media Sim with your phone as you don't say whether you did or not!!!!! If you did why dont you put that in and then try the codes with the VM sim in and then try your differant sim

Re: SIM CARD NOT VALID

usimg sim wont make a difference the codes should work, have you met the networks criteria before the phone is allowed to be unlocked by obligation,if not you will have to take it to a phone specialist to be done ,this will void warranty though.

If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.

Re: SIM CARD NOT VALID

I have tried that , using a virgin Sim , it says, NOT ALLOWED,

I have been on the phone all day with them, so now they have decided to replace the handset as they cannot solve the problem with this one. Thanks anyway. XX

As per the that service shop the phone is locked and need to be unlock and they don’t have that thing to unlock it.For your kind info when I bought the phone it was not locked now don’t know where is it that program fault or the cell?????I am living in Afghanistan and there is no Nokia service, please advice urgently as I am out of phone now. Thanks a lot, cheers
