Colourful Bars of Death

So, I was watching some YouTube a few minutes ago when my phone suddenly changed screens to a bunch of vertical colourful lines... Luckily for me, it happened to me on my iPod too, so I didn't freak out so much this time around. However, I'm still wondering what these bars are and what this means for my phone. For my iPod, these colourful bars were the start to a series of problems that eventually killed the device over the next few months.

 

So basically my questions are:

1. What happened?

2. What does this mean?

3. What should I do with my phone?

 

Thanks for any help!!

 


Another note: My phone is a Nokia X7 which i have owned for 13 months.

Never seen this on an X7 is the phone working ok now?
Back up your data and type in *#7370# if it is not.

Its working okay for now, but I'm worried that it might happen again and more frequently as it did on my iPod.

Your ipod is a totally different OS than your phone,no comparison.

Happened on my Nokia 5800xm twice or thrice since I bought it more than 3 years back. The last time it happened must have been more than 8-10 months ago .. so do not think its a cause of worry ..
