hi i m from pakistan.what the hell is nokia doing....i have x3-02 and my firmware version is 5.65 i cant update it to 5.68 even but newer version is v6.0.and we cant update over phone.first phone is alot of bugs and firmware is also coming late.they are giving reason is network operator restriction but there is not restriction of network.

Just need some clarification.. Is your phone Network locked or SIM Free...???

Availability of software updates is not in any way related to SIM-lock status, but if the device was purchased as part of a network package it may well be a model with operator variant software, which case Nokia may be waiting for the operator's approval to release the update to your device.

Operator variant phones do not have exactly the same software as standard models, they are customised to the specifications of the network, and so changes to the software have to be approved by the network. Some OV phones have only light, cosmetic changes to the software but some have extensive differences, including different features and applications preinstalled.

I would like to ask what if the device that I bought was not locked by any network operator but still having the same problem in updating the firmware.

Based from the Nokia Philippines site, the firmware version available for X3-02 is now 6.00, but when going to update my phone using Nokia Software Updater (version 2.8.9en), it just says "Nokia Software Updater does not support this model. Check which products are supported at www.nokia.com/support", and when using the Nokia Ovi Suite (version 3.1.0.84), it says "No Updates Available".

I would like also to ask based from the note on the X3-02 Support that “please note that the latest software version may not be available for your device, and the benefits listed may not be available to you.” What are the factors or things that our device may not be applicable for update aside from the SIM-lock issue? Is Nokia X3-02 phones having different structures that’s why some X3-02 could be updated and some are not?

I am really concerned about this because Nokia X3-02 has some bugs that I think could be fixed by updating the firmware. But if not, I would like to send some suggestions to consider in the next firmware version thinking of X3-02’s capacity and maximizing its strength. But as of now, I would like my Nokia X3-02 be updated in behalf of other X3-02 users. Please send us an update as soon as possible when we could really update our device by region.

There are a lot of phones circulating in the Philippines that arent really part of the Philippine product code line-up, being outsourced from some other non-official supplier (not illegal, but still a different supplier from Nokia phils). What's your phone's product code?

I'm from the Philippines too. I once updated my x3-02 software via phone, recently i heard about v6.0, currently i have v5.60 but when i'm trying to update my software it says that there are no new software available. heres my product code: 059D7M2

Just bought my phone two weeks ago unlocked from amazon USA.

Variant 255.02 RM-639.

Still unable to update to 6.00 firmware.

Any idea when this will be available to the rest of x3-02 customers?

Whats the point of releasing a firmware if no one gets to use it?

You got an APAC-PH dark X3-02... Well if software updater says that its not yet released for that code, then its not. You have to wait.

As I mentioned above, where did you buy your phone? Even if you bought it in the Philippines, it does not guarantee you have a Philippine product code unit.

i got two of these phones. the other one had boot fail so i went to nokia care to resolve my problem. it's running on version 6.00 now. but i cant update my other phone )

I'm from the philippines, got this x3-02 phone last sept2012.  I was able to update its firmware via nokia suite.  And its working.  You should try it.
