I put few video songs of WMV and MPG-4 format in my x2-01 which I bought couple of weeks back but its unable to play them. When I play WMV format only sound come and no video is shown and for MPG-4 it says that file not supported.

Kindly tell me whether x2-01 is capable for these formats, if yes than why my x2-01 don't play them.

Make sure that you have converted them. So that it would be easy for the phone to play them.
I don't think WMV format is supported.

Many thanx for your reply. I also think that x2-01 only support 3gp format which is the disadvantage in this phone. The link you gave in your reply belongs to nokia touch and type and i was talking about x2-01

Check out the link, as per gsmarena it can play WMV & MP4 format. i wonder y my phone dont.

Nokia X2-01 does support .mp4 format.

Improper codec configuration makes the .mp4 files unusable.

Use Format Factory to convert your files to .mp4 

The steps are as follows:

1. Download and install Format Factory

2.After installation, select "All to mobile device" from the left hand pane under Video menu.

3.In there, scroll down to 'nokia' ->Nokia MP4 320x240 MPEG4

4.Click on "ok".

5.Click on "add file".

6.Select the file you want to convert then again click on "ok".

7.From the main screen , when the file to be converted appears, select it and click on "Start" from the top menu(A big Icon).

8.After the completion of the process,  right click on the finished task and select "Open Output Folder".

9.Transfer the file using Nokia Ovi or PC Suite.

10. ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!

I will try to give the solution to WMV files also.Till that Happy MP4.ing.

Buddy x2-01 supports only .3gp & .avi formats

you need to convert those video using format factory..heres the link of the software http://format-factory.en.softonic.com/...install it then open..click on video (can be found at the left side of the window) then choose all to mobile device then click nokia  then choose NOKIA MP4 320X240 MPEG4 then click ok...

Yes, I am also facing the same, low sound output problem with videos

It is working fine with earphones,but the speaker sound is very low.

from what I understand, it plays wmv audio, and mp4 format is just a container. different mp4 videos may have differing audio and video stream configs, some may play, some may not.

no,no. Nokia X2-01 is Supported with .mp4 format. I just buy it yesterday. I have converted some Video files in .mp4 format from My Computer to phone and it worked well.

Thank you all for contributing to the forum. The X2-01 supports the video formats; 3GPP formats (H.263), H.264/AVC, MPEG-4 and WMV(unprotected). These can be played with a resolution of 320x240 pixels. You can find his and more information here.

I m unable to play sound in application which i hv download in my x2.it shows playing sounds not allowed....anyone to help
